Executive Chairman, Mr Eddie Ong was President of ST Aviation Training Academy Pte Ltd (STATA). STATA is a joint venture between Aviation Training Academy (Singapore) and Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace), and provides commercial Multi-Crew Pilot Training (MPL) to airlines in Asia through a holistic approach of ab initio flying and training in a synthetic centric environment. ST Aerospace is the aerospace arm of the public-listed Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering).
He has a distinguished career in the aviation industry, of which he spent over 38 years at Singapore Airlines. He held various regional responsibilities in planning and general management at the airline. Under his leadership as the General Manager of its Japan office, he was instrumental in building Japan into the airline’s major revenue generating country. He headed up the airline’s Inflight Services division in 1996 which he played a pivotal role in the transformation of SIA Inflight Services to what it is today. He also contributed significantly to the initial interior design of the Airbus A380 cabin. He served on the Boards of SATS Catering and Maldives Flight Kitchen. He attended the Programme for Management Development (PDM) in INSEAD and the Senior Executive Programme in Kellogg Graduate School of Management, North Western University.

CEO Capt Kay Tan excels in Corporate Strategies and Planning. He has four decades of airline experience in Flight Operations, Engineering, Entrepreneurial (F&B) Enterprises and Training. He is rated in most wide bodied aircrafts. His expertise is in coaching, mentoring and instructing, courseware development, training and service. A graduate in Transportation studies and a post graduate degree in Aviation Management help him to better understand and propose solutions to current transportation problems.
He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, thereby keeping abreast of world trends and development in this Industry. He is a founder of the MPL Academy. He is also an entrepreneur who owns successful high end F&B restaurants in Singapore.

He spent 6 years in Singapore acquiring and honing his skills and expertise on entrepreneurship. His flair, rapport, understanding of the working in India and local culture will be a great asset towards the success of our venture. He has previous IT business dealing with the Government. He is the General Manager of AIAT India. His contacts in India and network is what started us out on this journey.
Through his network we met the Aviation Minister of India and the Deputy Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh. With their wholehearted support and promise we decided to invest in Aviation Training. He has a BBus (AP Uni) and a MSc(Bus) from Glasgow University, UK.
